Security Manager for IT Systems
Position Overview
Supervising the security of the organization's IT infrastructure and ensuring the protection of sensitive information. You will lead a team of security professionals, develop security policies, and implement security measures to safeguard our systems against threats.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to protect IT systems and data.
- Oversee the design and implementation of security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, VPNs, and SIEM systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security threats and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT security professionals, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices.
- Monitor security incidents and respond to security breaches, ensuring timely resolution and reporting to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of IT operations and projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance security posture.
- Prepare and present security reports and metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., a Master’s in Information Security or Cybersecurity) are advantageous, especially for more senior roles.
- Expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, VPNs, and SIEM systems.
- Typically, 5-10 years of experience in IT security roles, including positions such as Information Security Analyst, IT Security Engineer, or similar. Several years in a management or leadership position within IT security are usually required.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
