Research & Development Engineer

Position Overview

Designing, developing, and testing new products and technologies. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure that the organization's products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to identify new technologies and methodologies that can enhance product development and innovation.
  • Design and develop prototypes and models using engineering tools and software relevant to the field, such as CAD software for mechanical engineering.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications.
  • Perform testing and validation of new products and technologies to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Analyze data and results to make informed decisions and recommendations for product improvements.
  • Document research findings, design processes, and test results to support project development and compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in research and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering), Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. A PhD or advanced degree can be advantageous, especially for research-intensive roles.
  • Experience with engineering tools and software relevant to the field, such as CAD software for mechanical engineering.
  • Several years of experience in R&D, including hands-on experience with designing, developing, and testing new products or technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
