Research & Development Engineer
Position Overview
Designing, developing, and testing new products and technologies. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure that the organization's products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to identify new technologies and methodologies that can enhance product development and innovation.
- Design and develop prototypes and models using engineering tools and software relevant to the field, such as CAD software for mechanical engineering.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications.
- Perform testing and validation of new products and technologies to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
- Analyze data and results to make informed decisions and recommendations for product improvements.
- Document research findings, design processes, and test results to support project development and compliance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in research and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering), Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. A PhD or advanced degree can be advantageous, especially for research-intensive roles.
- Experience with engineering tools and software relevant to the field, such as CAD software for mechanical engineering.
- Several years of experience in R&D, including hands-on experience with designing, developing, and testing new products or technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
