Data Protect Agent
Position Overview
Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding personal data within the organization. Your expertise in data protection laws and practices will be essential in guiding the organization data protection strategy and ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and develop privacy policies, procedures, and strategies to mitigate risks associated with data processing activities.
- Collaborate with various departments to implement and manage data protection measures, ensuring that organizational practices align with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on data protection and privacy best practices to foster a culture of compliance within the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities regarding data protection matters, handling inquiries and coordinating responses effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in data protection laws and practices, informing relevant stakeholders of changes that may impact the organization.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Business Administration. Advanced education or specialization in data protection or privacy law is advantageous.
- Deep understanding of data protection laws, particularly the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
- Knowledge of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), privacy policies, and procedures. Experience in managing and implementing data protection measures is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in data protection, privacy, or compliance roles. Experience in roles involving data protection management, compliance, and regulatory interaction is crucial.
